                                            November

Well on the first of November we had a letter arrive in the post from ANCCE to tell us that our homebred filly Vega XVII has qualified to go to SICAB!
Its weaning time and Antares SA our lovely chestnut colt by Opalo de Ondes and out of Jaecera II has gone his ne home . He loaded well and travelled in style in a brand new lorry from Gavin Jamieson Horse Transport.
We had a super time at SICAB with fiends old and new! SO many lovely horses to see and I recommend a visit to any one interested in the PRE.

                                               October

Brrrrr its starting to get wintery now!

We took our two fillies to the first British international Spanish show and qulifier for SICAB and were very proud of them,Vega our homebred came 3rd and Melodia 5th,a huge thankyou to Emma and James at Esperanza Dressage for helping run the ladies up,I could not have done it without you!!! Also the first placed mare of the 7yrs and over class, was Luna Rombo owned by Gill Gilson and brought from us for dressage a few years ago, well done Gill ! Well done also to Esperanza Dressage,Claire and Metano III (who needs no introduction) for coming 2nd in the stallion 5-6yrs and winning the movement for this section as well!!!

The show itself was a huge success and the sun shone down,it was just like being in Spain. The picture below shows myself,Claire,KateSkirrow.gill Gilson and John of Jayem Stud sitting outside the stand.

A new addition to our ladies arrived,a lovely chestnut mare with a pearl gene,Santa is a grandaughter of the great Militar stallion Gento, she moves very well and is a real head turner.

                                    September

We have been very busy this month as we have had our yearly holiday  in Portugal ,this is made possible by my dear friend Georgie looking after all the horses..... Its hard to imagine that fairly soon the nights will start drawing in and winter will be here!!

Already the haylage is piled up in the winter paddock, ready for cold times.

This year will be the first international Spanish horse show at Keysoe (GBPRE)

although not well planned or prepared we are going to take the two young fillies,so when possible I am trying to teach them to run up in hand. Its not that easy!

Our dear friend Alvaro of Senorio de Bariain is offering some superb stock for sale if anyone is interested. The Bariain stud is world famous for producing competition horses including Guacho III,Penueco and many more, please feel free to contact me for more information.

                                         August

Finally at the end of this month Victoriosa foaled,a lovely orange bay colt,we

have called him Plato. Plato is very handsome and noble colt and he is carrrying one copy of the pearl gene.

We have only put three of our own mares back in foal for 2012  to give some of them a rest .

                                               JULY
July has been a very busy month. We have had our article come out in Horse and rider magazine and have had lots of visitors. The write up was lovely and so nice to see the horses in print! Well done to all those at the magazine for making it look so nice.
Brindis has been a busy boy and we now have several mares in foal to him for 2012. It has also been our National breed show, which was great fun and I think enjoyed by all. There were so many lovely horses to see and lots of people to meeet.
We are waiting for Victoriosa to foal in the next month, fingers crossed it all goes well.

                                          JUNE
The first gradings held here at Star Andalusians went smoothly and both the horses we presented,Victoriosa-P and Brindis MG passed. Well done to the grading commitee for organising such a big grading, the largest we have ever had in the UK so far
Nearly all of our foals have been born now,we are only waiting for the Pearl mare Victoriosa-P. Our Black homebred mare gave us a super colt by Metano III and he will be the same colour as his mother. Our black mare Borracha VI arrived from Spain with her black colt Enif SA and both of these lovely boys are sadly for sale. Our stallion Metano III has been making us proud and lots of people happy,by producing a lot of buckskin foals this year and also sire of a pearl /cream filly, from a mare that we sourced in Spain along with several others that have this special pearl gene.
Good luck to everyone that has offspring from either Lengueto V or Metano III this year.

Horse and Rider Magazine came and took some pictures of the horses,so look out for that in the next issue!

                                                  MAY
It has been brought to my attention that the news page has not been up on the website!!! Ooops! Oh well its back now and at a good time as we have now had two foals born one day apart. After staying up for night and nights waiting for Jaecera to foal ,Macarena decided to have her baby after she had been turned out in the field in the morning, all went well and she had a classy bay colt by the NOBELIZA DEL GUADIANA stallion Temerario IX,then almost exactly 24
hours later Jaecera II gave birth to a tall, elegant chestnut colt by Mandy Wheatcrofts stallion Opaolo de Ondes. Thankyou Mandy for making this possible,Antares is everything we could have wished for and more.Take a look at both the foals on our foals page Foals 2011
Congratulations to Mary Mc Bride of Maryss Pre Stud on the birth of her second Metano III filly, another buckskin!
This month is going to be busy,we have Metano III at Royal Windsor, some of the gradings being held at Star Andalusians and Judging at Herts County along with foalings and coverings.

                                            APRIL
At last there is a definite feel of spring is in the air!! Lengueto V has been getting very excited about all the hundreds of polo ponies that have been moved into nearby fields !! I keep telling him he has got some girlfriends this year but not that many! There are literally hundreds and it makes riding past them at this time of year interesting to say the least.
Brindis has started doing a little bit of work under saddle so that he has a bit
of eduction before he starts covering.
We visited Metano III who is still in training at Esperanza Dressage and he
looks amazing, his training is coming along very well and he is becoming established in his lateral work, well done Emma and James, you both always do such a good job! Metano III will be available for sale soon as we have our young stallion Brindis to bring on next.
The mares have all been moved down to the farm now,so that they can come in at night for foaling and Jaecera wont be long. The young mares have also been brought onto the farm for some extra handling, trimming and bathing. I hope we can take some of our fillies to the BAPSH national championships at the end of July,so we need to spend some time teaching them to run out correctly and
also stand still for when thay are being judged. Thankgoodness for the longer days now as things are getting busy.

                                                MARCH
All of our weanlings have gone to there new homes, our stunning black filly by
Romero XXV has gone to live in Scotland with Lucky Laura, whilst you are staring out the window adoringly at Saggita,we are missing her here. Our buckskin filly Lyra SA has gone to become a foundation mare for another breeder in the UK,breeding different colours in the PRE,good luck Sarah Im sure Lyra will produce some lovely and interesting babies for you.
We had some great news from Mandy at Millpark Andalusian Stud that her homebred mare Ovacion has foaled and she has a dunskin filly by Metano III.
Congratulations Mandy and Im so looking forward to Jaecera II foaling to Opalo.
The weather is improving and all the horses are starting to look lovely again after loosing there winter woolies.

                                           FEBRUARY
We have managed to weaned all the foals now and they are taking up alot
of time with being taught how to lead and enjoy beeing brushed. The mares
have gone back up to the top of the farm and seem quite happy to be free
of there babies!
Our mare Victoriosa that has been is Spain at Javier Larrosa's yard has    arrived home at last, she has been enjoying the warmth of Spain and I am sure
she wont be happy about this cold weather.

                                                JANUARY
As we go into 2011 the snow and very cold weather is back,we have been
hand filling all of the waters in the fields, making sure the mares have plenty
of food. The horses in the stables at one point were stuck in for 10 days as
we could not get them out over the ice! Roll on spring time!
